Welcome to Mrs. Rowe's Kindergarten

Hello,

Welcome to Kindergarten!  My name is Michelle Rowe and I am delighted to have the privilege of teaching your child this year.

Some of you already may know me, but for those who are new to Little Flower, I would like to tell you about myself.  I graduated from the University of Illinois with a dual degree in Early childhood and Elementary Education.  I have been certified as a Highly Qualified teacher through the Illinois State Board of Education.  I have over 20 years teaching experience.  Before moving to Springfield my career included student teaching Kindergarten, four years teaching first grade, two years teaching sixth grade, one year teaching fifth grade, and a year as a part-time suspension supervisor.  After moving to Springfield, my husband, Doug, and I researched all the area school before selecting Little Flower for our two children Mindi and Darin.  While our children were attending Little flower, I began teaching part-time literature, and then in the library for eight years.  With my youngest child now approaching her senior year of high school, I have made the decision to return to a full-time position.

With the excitement of this new endeavor, I have been very busy all summer getting our room ready and planning our school year.  And, what an exciting year I have planned!  Once school begins, a weekly newsletter including:  activities, curriculum, stories and a note or two from me will be sent home.  A monthly snack schedule will also be sent home at the end of each month.

The students will be using a daily binder/folder to communicate important information including:  newsletter, snack calendar, behavior calendar, and homework.  Please make sure all money sent to school is labeled.

Please do not hesitate to reach me at school with any questions or concerns.

Let's have a great year!

Mrs. Rowe
